Several manufacturers including Mahindra, Tata and Hyundai are planning to introduce new electric vehicles. Here you are being told about the top 7 electric cars that will be launched in India soon.



1. Mahindra XUV400 Electric


Mahindra has officially debuted the XUV400 electric SUV and it will be launched in January 2023. Mahindra XUV400 Electric is powered by a battery pack with a capacity of 39.4kW, with a claimed driving range of 456km on a single charge. The Mahindra XUV400 Electric is capable of accelerating from zero to 100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds and can top out at 150 kmph.



2. New MG Electric Car


MG Motor India has started road testing of its upcoming entry-level electric car, which is expected to be launched in the first half of 2023. It is based on the Wuling Air EV, which is currently codenamed E230. The new model will cost between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 12 lakh and will be positioned as a city commuter in congested cities. The new model is reportedly likely to have a battery pack capacity of around 20kWh to 25kWh, which will enable it to deliver a driving range of 150km.



3. Hyundai Kona Facelift


The Hyundai Kona was the first Hyundai car in the Indian market and it competes with rivals like the MG ZS Electric. The Korean carmaker is planning to launch the new Kona facelift in India soon. The Kona facelift gets an updated exterior design, new interiors and new features, though the brand is yet to share details about the powertrain and battery pack.



4. Tata Tiago Electric


The Tata Tiago Electric will be available for sale in India in the coming months and when launched, it will likely be the most affordable electric hatchback with a starting price of around Rs.9 lakhs. The Tiago EV is also expected to adopt Ziptron technology and use a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor developing 75 hp power and 170 Nm. On a single charge, it can get a range of 213 km.



5. Tata Altroz Electric


Tata Motors is testing the electric version of the Altroz hatchback and it will come in its electric avatar with differently styled bumpers, close-off grille, star patterned air-dam, new alloys with blue highlights and blacked-out section on the tailgate. Will come The blue highlights will continue inside the cabin as well, while it is also expected to get a rotary gear selector. The car will be powered by Ziptron electric technology and is expected to deliver an actual range of over 300 km on a single charge.



6. BYD ATTO 3


BYD will also launch the Atto 3 electric SUV during the festive season and will take on the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona and the upcoming Mahindra 400 Electric. The car will be 4,455 mm long, 1,875 mm wide and have a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. The ATTO 3 is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces 204 Bhp of power and 310 Nm of peak torque. The SUV is capable of delivering a range of around 350 km on a single charge and the brand will soon reveal more details about this SUV.



7. Hyundai Ionic 5


The Hyundai Ionic 5 will soon debut in India and will be locally assembled in the country. The Ionic 5 is based on the brand's latest e-GMP skateboard platform and is offered with multiple powertrain options in the global markets. The Ionic 5 comes with features like digital instrument console, powered seat, connected car tech and more. Hyundai is expected to keep the price under Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Ionic 5 will be launched in the next few months.
